"It’s Danielle, your go-to wedding designer at Modern Story Event Co., and today I’m thrilled to share a behind-the-scenes look at an editorial shoot that holds a special place in my heart. After recently relocating from Columbus, OH to the vibrant city of Chicago, this shoot at Wandering Tree Estate in North Barrington, Illinois, marked my first styled shoot with a new team. It’s also a reflection of my mission to bring accessible luxury wedding design to a culturally diverse clientele."
This experience was all about building connections and setting the stage for future collaborations with an incredibly talented group of creatives. I couldn’t have asked for a more inspiring start!
A Dream Location
Wandering Tree Estate, with its lush gardens and serene lake, was the perfect backdrop for our vision. This stunning estate, with its natural beauty, effortlessly elevated every element of our design. Each corner of the estate seemed to whisper inspiration, adding a magical, ethereal quality to our shoot.
At Modern Story Event Co., we took the reins on full-service design and florals, creating a look that was both sophisticated and organic. Our aim was to marry the estate’s natural charm with the refined elegance our clients dream of, and the results? Pure magic.
The Details That Made It Shine
We added layers of texture and grace to our tablescapes with luxurious linens from BBJ La Tavola. The personalized stationery from The Paper Vow brought a touch of intimacy and connection, perfectly complementing the overall aesthetic. These details weren’t just beautiful—they told a story.
Glam It Up Meg worked her magic with hair and makeup, giving our models, Tori Zanoni and Xander Kaz, a polished yet effortlessly chic look that harmonized beautifully with the estate’s natural elegance. And let’s talk about the cake by Maria Ciuverca—visual masterpiece meets culinary delight! It was the kind of cake that every couple dreams of having on their special day.
Sage Hill Rentals added the finishing touches with their carefully curated pieces, blending rustic charm with sophistication to create a setting that was both inviting and refined.
Captured to Perfection
Behind the scenes, Lanovia Creations captured the essence of our collaborative efforts with stunning video content, while Queen Anne’s Lace Photo documented the day with beautiful behind-the-scenes photography. Their work truly brought our vision to life, capturing the energy, creativity, and collaboration that flowed throughout the day.
